The Opportunity
Owen Mumford, part of embecta, combines more than 70 years of medical device innovation with embecta’s 100-year legacy in insulin delivery, expanding our capabilities and impact across healthcare.

We are seeking an accomplished Plant Director based in Oxfordshire to provide end-to-end leadership across our Chipping Norton and Witney manufacturing sites.

In this newly created role, you will have full accountability for site operations, plant-level P&L and performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People. You will shape the next chapter for both sites by strengthening operational performance, building a high-performing culture and preparing the organization for future growth.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across both UK manufacturing sites.
• Own plant-level P&L, budgets and overall manufacturing performance.
• Lead Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance and Human Resources.
• Drive performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People.
• Build a strong safety and quality culture while ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, including GMP and ISO standards.
• Lead organizational change, challenge existing ways of working and create greater accountability across the sites.
• Strengthen production planning, inventory management, materials flow and on-time customer delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement, productivity and operational efficiency.
• Develop leadership capability, strengthen succession pipelines and improve employee engagement.
• Partner with senior leaders to translate operational strategy into measurable results and support future growth.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, science, engineering, industrial management or a related field, or equivalent experience; MBA preferred.
• At least 10 years of experience in a similar leadership role within the medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
• Proven success leading a manufacturing operation of more than 100 employees.
• Experience leading Production, Engineering, Human Resources, Finance and Supply Chain functions.
• Earlier-career experience directly managing shop-floor employees.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage competing demands in a resource-constrained environment.
• An agile, results-oriented leadership style and a commitment to developing high-performing teams.

Deep engineering or automation expertise is not essential. Your success will come from your ability to lead through others, strengthen the organization and turn strategy into sustainable results.
