Job summaryTo act as an advanced physiotherapy clinical practitioner within the Orthopaedic Outpatient Consultant Clinics for designated orthopaedic specialty using advanced clinical reasoning skills to provide specialist support and advice to physiotherapy and other clinical staff whilst maintaining a caseload of highly complex patients referred to the service as an autonomous practitioner.
They will use advanced clinical decision making and expertise to guide and support treatment pathways ensuring the delivery of a clear pathway and rehabilitation plans.
Main duties of the job- To undertake as an advanced autonomous practitioner, comprehensive assessments of highly complex patients presenting with multiple pathologies, using advanced bio psychosocial clinical reasoning skills, expert knowledge of evidence-based practice, and advanced rehabilitation expertise to interpret and analyse clinical and non-clinical facts, which may include very personal, emotive or contentious information. Demonstrate critical awareness of knowledge in the field and at the interface between different specialties.

Job responsibilities- To demonstrate specialist musculoskeletal knowledge related to screening, assessment, investigation, triage and treatment, underpinned by theoretical knowledge or relevant practical experience.
- To manage patients referred to the Orthopaedic specialty clinic for initial contact, assessment, clinical diagnosis and management; acting as a link clinician to support them through the clinical pathway.
Person SpecificationEssential- Qualified and HCPC registered physiotherapist
- Experience of working as a band 6 physiotherapist for a minimum of three years in MSK.
- Educated to Master's degree level or or currently registered and studying at Masters level.
- Experience of working in all core areas

- GCP training
- Membership of a professional network / CIG
