Job summary
We are looking for HCPC registered registered and experienced MSK Podiatrists to work on bank.

We have clinics based across the borough of Greenwich.

The role will include the assessment and MSK podiatry treatment to clients in community clinics. Treatments to include advanced gait assessments, neurological assessments, and the prescriptions/ manufacture of orthotics devices and appliances.

Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit experienced podiatrists for our community MSK podiatry team to work on a bank basis.

The postholder will be part of a highly skilled and motivated team working autonomously but with support of senior clinicians.

You will be working in a community setting providing a high standard of quality clinical care and excellent customer service.

You will assess, diagnose, develop, and implement personalised care plans for patients with a wide variety of complex clinical needs. You will be expected to plan and manage your own case load, be punctual and reliable.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required for this role.

Oxleas offers a wide range of NHS healthcare services to people in community and secure environment settings. We manage hospital sites including Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup and Memorial Hospital, Woolwich, as well as the Bracton Centre, our medium secure unit for people with mental health needs. We are the largest NHS provider of prison health services providing healthcare to prisons within Devon, Dorset, Bristol, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire, Kent and South London. Job responsibilities
To provide advanced neurological & biomechanical assessments of foot function to isolate the cause of the pathology so that pathways of care can be followed by the team responsible for individual patient care.

To undertake advanced gait assessment using an in-shoe force plate system and interpret/analyse the technical results/readings.

To work as an autonomous practitioner, developing & agreeing treatment plans individually with clients. Support from senior staff is provided.

To develop treatment plans and discharge plans through an agreed contract with each client, and to follow through the treatment plan with an end result of improved foot pathology & discharge where appropriate.

To assess all clients at every visit and refer to specialist services as appropriate.

To prescribe, and manufacture, orthoses/insoles/appliances/and shoe adaptations when required using the laboratory equipment.

To prescribe, manufacture and fit chairside biomechanical and functional devices when clinically indicated.

To be responsible for protection of health and wellbeing of all clients. Alert others to concerns where protection may be required for both children and vulnerable adults. To maintain all areas of the working environment in a clean and tidy condition, always meeting minimum department standards and adhering to Infection Prevention Control Policies.

To have responsibility for the Health and Safety and welfare of self and others in the working environment, to follow safe practices and to always comply with the Trusts Health and Safety policies and procedures.

To complete accurate and contemporaneous clinical records for all patients on the RiO electronic records system.

To comply with all applicable policies of the Trust and department.

To keep up to date with developments in the Podiatry profession and meet all of the standards of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists and the HCPC.

  • BSc (Hons) Podiatry

Training and Experience

  • MSK Experience
  • Effective clinical placement experience

Skills and Abilities
Essential
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
