Job summaryThis post will aim to support and enhance the integrated Single Point of Access within the Bromley CAMHS service; working independently according to a plan agreed with a qualified psychologist and within the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures. Important Sponsorship Information for this post: We are unable to offer a certificate of sponsorship for this post.Main duties of the jobTo undertake protocol based psychological assessment of young people applying psychological theory, including neuro-psychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the client's care.
- To assist in the formulation of young people's needs, under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist.
- To assist in the co-ordination and running of therapeutic groups or clinical projects.
- To work with other staff to contribute to multi-disciplinary discussions or care guidelines as agreed with the clinical psychologist providing supervision.
- To assist in the development of a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all clients of the service, across all settings where care takes place.
- To convey unwelcome or unpleasant news to service users and families in an empathetic and sensitive manner
- To effectively manage frequent distressing or emotional circumstances, accessing support when required.
- To be able to cope with occasional, potential stressful, upsetting or emotional situations in an empathetic manner, such as referrals which may have information about traumatic childhood experiences and abuse.
- To create graphs, presentations or charts to collage or summarise data on individual interventions or treatment programmes.

Job responsibilitiesThis post will require the applicant to:

Person SpecificationEducationEssential- Honours Degree in Psychology
Desirable- Post-graduate experience in relevant areas of professional psychology
ExperienceEssential- Working within a CAMHS setting
Desirable- Experience of facilitating therapy groups.
SkillsEssential- Experience of contributing to audit and service evaluation in a CAMHS setting.
Desirable- Experience of undertaking research, audit and/or service evaluation.
- Experience using computers for databases or data-analysis.
