Main duties of the jobWe're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, compassionate, and committed to improving young people's mental health. You will:
- Carry out high-quality mental health assessments for children and young people referred to the service.
- Deliver CBT or CBT-informed interventions, individually and in groups, tailored to assessed needs.
- Provide consultation and advice to education staff and other professionals to support whole-school approaches to mental health.
- Manage a defined caseload effectively, ensuring timely care planning and delivery.
- Offer clinical supervision and mentorship to colleagues and trainees.
- Monitor outcomes using Routine Outcome Measures (ROM) and engage in clinical review where necessary.
- Contribute to service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and liaise with external agencies to ensure coordinated care.

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- Postgraduate qualification EMHP Must be accredited with the BABCP/BPS or Post graduate diploma in Cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT) accredited with the BABCP/BPS
- Completion of the post graduate certificate in supervisory skills or eligible to be able to complete the course at time of applying for the role
ExperienceEssential- Professional involvement with the users of mental health services
- Experience of case management of young people
- Experience of multiagency working
- Experience of working with neuro developmental disorders
- Significant post qualification experience in mental health services to post graduate diploma level
- Experience of working with children and young people with mild to moderate mental health conditions particularly related to anxiety, low mood and behaviour
- Have a good working knowledge of evidence based interventions for Children and Young people
- Good understanding of CYP IAPT principles
KnowledgeEssential- Knowledge of mental health issues in young people
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and National policies in relation to young people.
- Knowledge of therapeutic interventions with young people
SkillsEssential- Ability to undertake appropriate mental health assessments
- Ability to carry out therapeutic interventions with this client group
- Ability to work well with a team
- Ability to manage a caseload effectively
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work creatively and flexibly in a clinical context
