  • Interpret complex analytical data and prepare accurate scientific updates, reports, and study documentation.
  • Support client interactions, including scientific discussions, meetings, teleconferences, and site visits.
  • Provide technical updates to Project Managers, Study Directors, and senior management throughout the study lifecycle.
  • Ensure all work is performed and documented in accordance with GxP requirements, study plans, SOPs, and company standards.
  • Maintain responsibility for assigned laboratory equipment, software platforms, and laboratory areas.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives and support the development of new services and capabilities within the department.
  • Contribute to the external scientific profile of the team through publications, presentations, posters, and participation in expert groups.
  • Develop and deliver training materials while mentoring and supporting less experienced colleagues.
  • Support project costing activities and provide technical input for bespoke client programmes.
  • Participate in recruitment activities, including interviewing and assessing prospective candidates.

Candidate Profile
  • PhD, MSc or BSc (Hons) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in metabolite identification within a CRO, pharmaceutical, or agrochemical environment.
  • Strong experience in chromatographic method development and optimisation.
  • Experience working within regulated GxP environments.
  • Proficient in the use of high-resolution mass spectrometry platforms such as Waters Vion, Thermo Q Exactive, and Orbitrap systems.
  • Experience using relevant software packages including Xcalibur, Waters UNIFI, and Compound Discoverer.
  • Strong understanding of drug metabolism and metabolic pathways.
  • Excellent LC-MS/MS data interpretation and structure elucidation skills.
  • Strong scientific reporting, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing colleagues.
