Clinical Governance Manager
PHL Group (Partnering Health Limited) is looking for an experienced Clinical Governance Manager to join our Clinical & Quality team. This is a pivotal role, providing assurance that our services are safe, compliant, and delivering high-quality care to our patients.

Reporting to the Head of Quality and Clinical Governance, you’ll lead on clinical governance processes across PHL, working closely with service leadership teams on incident reporting, risk and complaints management, and quality improvement — all delivered in line with our truly caring and team first values.

This is a full-time hybrid position, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

• Acting as a visible, approachable leader within the Clinical & Quality Team, supporting and inspiring colleagues across the organisation
• Ensuring up-to-date knowledge of the clinical governance framework, including relevant legislative, regulatory and professional standards (CQC, NHS England, NICE, CAS alerts)
• Producing patient safety and governance reports for services, committees and forums, escalating and actioning improvements where needed
• Supporting investigations into patient safety incidents and potential litigation claims, ensuring learning is embedded and shared
• Maintaining and monitoring the risk register, providing expert advice on clinical risk management
• Overseeing complaints handling via Datix, ensuring timely investigation, response and learning
• Researching, writing and embedding clinical and governance policies and procedures
• Chairing a delegated sub-committee and supporting delivery of governance meetings across services
• Supporting compliance with ISO 9001 quality management requirements

About You
Essential

• Experience working within a clinical governance and compliance role in healthcare (ideally 3+ years)
• Registered Nurse, Paramedic, Pharmacist or Allied Health Professional (5+ years’ experience) with current professional registration
• Experience developing and implementing effective governance policies and procedures
• Experience coordinating risk management processes and risk reporting
• Understanding of Information Governance (Data Protection)
• A strong track record of building relationships with senior stakeholders
• Experience drafting and presenting briefing papers, and analysing information from multiple sources to support governance and assurance
• Proven change management skills
• Knowledge of serious incident investigations, report writing and PSIRF
• Experience handling patient complaints

Desirable

• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
• Membership of the Chartered Governance Institute
• Evidence of leading and managing high-performing teams
• Evidence of continuing professional development in Clinical Governance, Compliance or Risk Management
