Description

Priory Hospital Chelmsford
Priory Hospital Chelmsford is looking to recruit a Dietitian to join the team. This is a full time/37.5 hour role. We offer support to people in crisis with mental health issues, such as psychosis, mood disorders, personality disorders, anxiety and trauma. The ward has a multidisciplinary team consisting of experienced consultant psychiatrists, specialty doctors, mental health nurses and therapists, who provide person-centred care, in collaboration with the patient, to allow them to maximise their recovery journey.

About the Role
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. As a Dietitian, you will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for patients with eating disorders to identify deficiencies and dietary challenges.
  • Develop and implement individualised meal plans that support recovery while addressing medical and psychological needs.
  • Provide education and counselling to patients and families about balanced nutrition, healthy eating behaviors, and relapse prevention.
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, therapists, and medical staff to create integrated treatment plans.
  • Monitor patients' progress, adjust nutrition interventions, and help manage complications related to eating disorders.

About Working With Us
Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same! Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows.

Qualifications and Experience
  • BSc or MSc in Dietetics OR BSc in relevant science with Post Graduate Diploma or MSc in Dietetics
  • Registration via Healthcare Professions Council
  • Proven experience working in clinical or specialised settings, preferably with patients suffering from eating disorders
  • Strong background in nutritional assessment, meal planning, and counselling tailored to complex psychological and medical needs
  • Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary teams, including mental health professionals
  • Excellent communication skills, empathy, and ability to motivate and support patients through their recovery journey
  • Commitment to staying current with the latest research and evidence-based practices in nutrition and eating disorder management
