About the RolePriory Hospital Kneesworth House is looking to recruit a Night Receptionist to join the team. This is a full-time role of 38.5 hours a week.
About the HospitalThe hospital also provides acute and psychiatric intensive care, medium and low secure services, and bespoke therapeutic placements. Priory’s acute and PICU services aim to allow more people to be treated closer to home and we support the NHS to repatriate out-of-area patients back to local areas.
Role OverviewYou’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the hospital and to support the wellbeing of our patients. While your role doesn’t involve providing direct care, your contribution is vital in helping to maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for everyone. Whether you're assisting with day-to-day operations, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here.
Key Responsibilities- Ensures that all telephone calls into main reception / switchboard are dealt with promptly and efficiently within Priory operational standards.
- Carries out administrative tasks as required.
- Ensures the appropriate security passes are issued, as well as then directing the visitor to the appropriate areas or individuals within the unit.
- Ensures the maintenance of the reception and waiting area environments to high standards, ensuring that any housekeeping or maintenance issues are reported to the appropriate teams.

Candidate RequirementsThe ideal candidate will hold an NVQ Level 1 qualification in a relevant subject area or GCSEs/equivalent qualifications. They will have experience gained within a customer-facing environment and be confident in delivering excellent service while interacting with a diverse range of people. Strong communication skills are essential, as the role involves supporting patients who may be experiencing difficult or challenging circumstances. The successful candidate will be able to respond sensitively and professionally in situations that may place increased emotional and sensory demands on the role.
