Priory Hospital Glasgow has an opportunity for a Registered General Nurse to join our team.  Priory Hospital Glasgow, Glasgow is a specialist inpatient treatment centre providing support for mental health conditions and addictions, including depression treatment, alcohol and drug rehabilitation, and private autism assessments for adults. It is accessible by public transport, with local train stations nearby and easy access from Glasgow city centre, as well as motorway links.

You will work effectively as a valued member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, promoting the best interests of clients and their carers while ensuring prescribed nursing care is delivered safely and effectively. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe and supportive care environment, exercising professional accountability and responsibility, and using your nursing skills, knowledge and expertise to respond effectively to changing environments. You will work within the scope of your professional practice and maintain high standards of care at all times. You will also be the link nurse and lead on site for Infection Control and Physical Health. You will be working rotational shifts across days and nights over a four week period: Week 1: 4 shifts  Week 2: 3 shifts  Week 3: 3 shifts  Week 4: 3 shifts You can find additional information in the attached job description. 

Essential for the role

• Qualified Registered General Nurse with active NMC registration.
• Minimum of 6-12 months post-registration experience in a Mental Health care environment and completion of preceptorship programme.
• Good understanding of NMC guidelines, requirements and professional standards. 
• Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD). 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
• Positive attitude with a commitment to change, improvement and delivering high-quality care. 
• Ability to work flexibly and use innovative approaches to care.
• Knowledge of the Mental Health Act, risk assessment and care planning.  

The following experience would be beneficial

• Experience of working an Eating Disorder setting.
