HCPC Registration

Priory Hospital Cardiff is looking for a Registered Psychologist to join the team. This is a part-time role working 22.5 hours per week, with an actual salary of £28,950-£31,350 per annum.

Priory Hospital Cardiff, Cardiff, South Wales is a low secure service for males and females with a personality disorder, learning disability or mental health diagnosis, delivered across three bespoke therapeutic placements (BTPs). It is accessible by public transport, with local bus routes nearby providing access into and around Cardiff and a train station approximately 1 mile from the hospital. The M4 motorway is also close by, providing wider regional access.

As a Registered Psychologist you’ll work alongside colleagues from Psychiatry, Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Social Work to provide high quality care. The Psychologist we are looking for will be experienced in assessment and formulation to help determine the treatment needs of individual patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver staff training and facilitate reflective practice sessions to support clinical excellence across the service.
  • Complete psychological risk assessments and contribute to effective risk management planning.
  • Provide evidence-based individual and group interventions tailored to the needs of the patient population.
  • Receive peer support and supervision from an established and supportive psychology team based at Llanarth Court.
  • Use a creative and compassionate approach to enhance the quality of life and recovery outcomes of patients.
  • Support individuals as they progress through their recovery journey and move towards less restrictive environments.

Essential
  • Post-graduate qualification in psychology and Registration with the HCPC as a Registered Psychologist.
  • The candidate should have experience of working with complex clients and supporting staff teams.

Desirable
  • Preferably experience of working in a forensic setting, HCR-20 trained and experience in the Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) model
