Title: Sessional Therapist - Eating Disorder CBT-E

At Priory Wellbeing Centre Southampton we are seeking a skilled and compassionate Sessional Eating Disorder Therapist specialising in Enhanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT-E) to join our multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will provide evidence-based psychological therapy to individuals experiencing eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder. You will support patients in developing healthier relationships with food, body image and eating behaviours, helping them challenge unhelpful thought patterns and achieve sustainable recovery.

The ideal candidate will have relevant professional qualifications, specialist training in CBT-E and experience supporting individuals with eating disorders. You will deliver one-to-one therapy, supporting clients to achieve their treatment goals, either face-to-face in our modern clinical environment or online.

At Priory, you will be part of a compassionate, multidisciplinary team committed to delivering personalised, evidence-based care that helps people move forward with confidence and build healthier, more fulfilling lives.

You will play a key role in patients’ recovery, contributing to assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic delivery, while working within strong clinical governance frameworks.

What we offer
  • Steady patient flow – referrals provided, so you can focus on therapy rather than marketing
  • Credibility & trust – work under the nationally recognised Priory brand
  • Clinical and admin support – access to clinical space, billing, and administrative support
  • Flexibility – choose the days and hours that suit you
  • Team connection – the independence of self-employment without professional isolation

Modalities
We welcome applications from therapists able to offer one or more of the following modalities: CBT, Integrative Therapy, EMDR, TF-CBT, Family Therapy, or other specialist modalities.

You will:
  • Hold professional registration with HCPC / UKCP / BABCP / BACP / NCPS / BPC / ACAT / ACP (as appropriate)
  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience
  • Demonstrate strong clinical judgement and excellent communication skills
  • Be confident working within clinical governance frameworks, including digital systems, concise clinical notes, and attendance at risk management meetings

Accreditation
Accreditation with a relevant professional body is required. In certain circumstances, we may consider applicants who are working towards accreditation, provided this can be completed within 12 months of appointment.
