Apple Mews has an opportunity for a Unit Manager to join our nursing team. Apple Mews is located in the city of Armagh, in Northern Ireland. Our home offers residential and nursing support for 30 adults with a range of needs. This includes people with a learning disability, individuals with physical health needs, and autistic people.
As Unit Manager, you will be part of the Senior Nursing Team, assisting the Service Manager and working collaboratively with the Multidisciplinary team to ensure a high-quality patient focused service is provided. You will act as a role model for the wider nursing team and exemplify best practice all times. Assist with the clinical management of the unit, maintaining high standards of nursing practice and promoting the philosophy of patient and family centred care Support the Service Manager in undertaking personal development reviews, risk assessments and management, managing clinical incidents, department audits, data collection for nursing indicators Ensure communication with nurses and healthcare assistants is accurate and is patient centred and safety huddles are carried out on a daily basis. Manage challenging and difficult situations with a professional and emotionally appropriate response, ensuring the needs of the patient remain paramount.
