Description

Priory Hospital Hayes Grove
Is looking to recruit an Occupational Therapist to join the team. This is a full-time/37.5 hour role.

Our comprehensive treatment programmes are delivered by our specialist multidisciplinary team, who work together to create a strong support network for our patients. Located in Bromley, South East London, Hayes Grove is one of Priory’s most renowned hospitals for our diverse range of therapeutic approaches, and we are experts in making assessments and advising on the best treatment options.

The Role
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Occupational Therapy assessments to identify patient needs and develop appropriate intervention plans, delivered on either an individual or group basis.
  • Manage and coordinate individual Occupational Therapy treatment plans, facilitate therapeutic groups, and oversee unit programmes.
  • Prepare Occupational Therapy reports and actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Work collaboratively as a key member of the multidisciplinary team to support patient care and treatment on the ward.
  • Provide supervision and guidance to Occupational Therapy Assistants, where appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with professional and clinical colleagues, ensuring clinical practice aligns with Priory policies, procedures, statutory regulations, and quality standards.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and carers to support high-quality care delivery.
  • Complete a minimum of 60% of contracted hours in direct clinical practice.

You can find additional information in the attached job description.

Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same! Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows.

Person Specification
  • Holds a recognised degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy.
  • Maintains current registration with the HCPC.
  • Previous experience in eating disorder services or mental health settings is highly desirable.
  • Strong assessment, communication, and clinical reasoning skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A compassionate, recovery-focused approach is essential.
