Job summary
We are looking for experienced Health Care Support Workers to join our Community Nursing Teams across the Mid Essex area, providing high- quality, person centred care to adults in their own homes and care settings.

Working alongside registered staff, you will play an important part in delivering delegated nursing care and support the provision of a highly specialised Community Nursing Service. This will include assisting registered staff in ensuring appropriate pathways of care are followed for patients requiring those services. Performing routine blood sampling will be a core day-to-day duty to support patients diagnostics and care. Previous experience in phlebotomy is therefore preferred but not essential as training can be provided.

You will also, contribute to the assessment and the treatment of individual patients within the nursing caseload, recognizing and reporting any changes in their condition or care needs to registered staff. Effective communication with patients, relatives and health care professionals is central to your role and essential to support the delivery of an integrated, holistic approach to patient care.

• Able to work alongside a multidisciplinary group of health professionals.
• Able to work independently and autonomously undertake clinical and non-clinical tasks.
• Possessing observational and communication skills which complement your role.
• Experience in undertaking phlebotomy or willingness to learn.
• Possess basic computer skills.
• Willing to develop in your role and adjust your responsibilities as the service grows and transforms.
• Able to work flexibly on a roster basis.
• A car driver with access to a car.
