Bank Cardiac Physiologist
Glendon Wood Hospital, Kettering

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced Cardiac Physiologist to join the team at Glendon Wood Hospital.

Where you'll be based
Our state-of-the-art day case hospital is located in Glendon, Kettering. This new facility is an extension of the services delivered by the nearby Woodland Hospital.

The hospital has two operating theatres, a purpose built Endoscopy unit, 8 out- patient consultation rooms, a treatment room for minor surgery, out- patients physiotherapy as well as a full imaging unit consisting of MRI & CT scanners, USS, Mammography and X-ray facilities.

We also have car parking for 103 cars, 10 disabled parking bays and 10 EV charging points.

Responsibilities

• Perform and interpret 12 lead ECG’s
• To participate in vetting a range of echocardiogram requests
• Perform and interpret 2 Dimensional and Doppler Echocardiographs
• Undertake and interpret adult Transthoracic echo (TTE) procedure and full and comprehensive report
• Participate in stock control measures
• Expertly operate equipment, manipulate the settings to obtain optimum images requiring manual dexterity and develop hand/eye co-ordination skills to perform interventions

You will need to demonstrate a good understanding of what constitutes high quality patient care and customer service as well as experience of working as part of a Cardiac team. You will also possess excellent communication and organisational skills.

What you’ll bring with you

• Must have at least 4 years’ post accreditation at Cardiac Clinical Physiologist Level
• ODP NVQ level 3 or equivalent
• BSc (Hons) Cardiac Clinical Physiology or equivalent
• BSE (British Society of Echocardiography) Adult Transthoracic Echocardiography (TTE) accreditation or equivalent Adult Proficiency Registration
• Digital and Data Literacy – use of EPRs, risk management and incident tools, M365 and ability to use data for quality improvement
• Excellent use of the Ultrasound equipment
• Skilful interpretation of cardiac anatomy
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
