Job summaryAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced physiotherapist to join the Community Learning Disability Service.
This post is a secondment opportunity for 6 months and will be based across Rotherham and Doncaster.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic physiotherapist that has experience in a broad range of specialities including the core rotations and has experience of working with adults with complex behaviours and/or a learning disability.
Applicants that do not meet the criteria for the band 7 post, then a band 6 would be considered but please view the correct JD and PS.
Main duties of the jobThe successful applicant will join an established multi-disciplinary team working alongside Community Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists and Psychological Therapy to deliver a holistic care plan to individuals with complex physical, psychological and social needs. This role will require the delivery of comprehensive physiotherapy interventions to manage clients with complex physical health needs, and will include regular Hydrotherapy and rehabilitation sessions within the community setting, and frequent work alongside partner agencies in areas such as Specialist Wheelchair Clinic, Orthotics and Secondary care.
In addition you will join an established team working on the Complex Physical Health pathway to provide regular assessment and management of a range of complex physical presentations, including 24 hour postural management, respiratory interventions and abdominal massage for Total Bowel Management.
You need to be a team player and be able to demonstrate a good understanding of current evidence based practice, have access to transport and the ability to travel around the required geographical area.

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent
- HCPC Registration
Desirable- Manual handling training
- Membership of a professional body
- Master's degree in Physiotherapy
ExperienceEssential- Work with multi-disciplinary team members
