Job summary
We are delighted to announce a new 16 bed service based in Doncaster that will welcome patients from Rotherham, Doncaster and North Lincolnshire.

The unit with support patients with complex mental health with a focus on rehabilitation, patients may be in the service for up to 12 months and through a multi-professional approach will receive recovery focussed care.

Main duties of the job
If you are a committed qualified Nursing Associate who is motivated and committed to enabling the recovery of people with acute mental ill health, then we are keen to hear from you.

At Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust, we value our staff and offer ongoing support through clinical and managerial supervision, and we offer in-house and external training, as well as opportunity to be involved in our inpatient development programme offered by our senior clinical leadership staff.

To assist in the development of the Nursing Team, working with other agencies to ensure the highest standard of patient care.

Qualifications
Essential
  • Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register
  • Educated to a minimum level 5 foundation degree specific to nursing associate practice
  • Care Certificate
  • GCSE level 4 -9 in Maths and English or equivalent

Experience
Essential
  • Previous experience of working within a health / care setting
  • Understanding of the importance of the promotion of health and wellbeing (Making Every Contact Count)

Skills
Essential
  • Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the team and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development
  • Ability to work effectively as a team player under appropriate supervision, and as part of a multi disciplinary team
  • Insight into how to evaluate own strengths and development needs, seeking advice where appropriate
  • Evidence of time management skills and ability to prioritise
  • IT skills appropriate to the role
  • Ability to communicate with members of the public and health and care providers
  • Courteous, respectful and helpful at all times Ability to deal with non-routine and unpredictable nature of the workload and individual patient contact
  • Ability to work on own initiative, be well motivated and motivate others
  • Ability to take part in reflective practice and clinical supervision activities
  • Able to demonstrate resilience, managing personal emotions and stress
  • Knowledge of when to seek advice and refer to a registered care professional
  • Ability to engage and complete preceptorship

Desirable
  • Understanding of evidence-based practice
