Job summaryAs part of the Occupational Health team the post holder will support the department to deliver high quality, comprehensive and pro active Occupational Health services.
The post holder will primarily be involved in vaccinations, venepuncture, pre employment health assessment, liaising with staff and managers as required.
The post holder will work as an effective team member, assisting in the management and the organisation of work as required.
Main duties of the jobAssist the Occupational Health (OH) Senior Clinic Nurse in the day to day management and provision of OH services to the Trust's and any additional customers.
Manage and prioritise own workload in the day to day delivery of OH services.
Works as an effective team member, demonstrate good personal communication skills and actively promote excellent team and interdisciplinary relationships.
To follow the Trust Medicines policy and departmental policies including Patient Group Directive's (PGD's) / Written Instructions on the safe storage, administration and disposal of immunisation/medication.

Person SpecificationEducationEssential- Registered Nurse (Pt 1/12)
ExperienceEssential- Significant post qualification experience including in acute NHS hospital settings
- Demonstrates sound understanding of personal and professional accountability
- Ability to work to challenging timescales and produce effective results
- Flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances
- Demonstrates excellent team working
- Demonstrates a desire to explore new ways of delivering services
Desirable- Occupational Health experience
CommunicationEssential- Excellent oral, written and inter personal communication skills
- Ability to facilitate and support learning in practice
- Good IT Skills including use of Microsoft office and outlook e-mail.
Desirable- Experience of delivering teaching sessions and presentations.
Clinical SkillsEssential- Demonstrates ability to place client at centre of care.
- Competent venepuncture skills
- Competent vaccination / injection skills e.g. intramuscular injections
Desirable- Knowledge of immunisation programmes
- Knowledge of health promotion programmes
- Demonstrates ability to think laterally, creatively and innovatively to enhance client care
