We are seeking an experienced and motivated Wound care Podiatrist to join our podiatry department at our Hampstead site. You will provide evidence-based wound care interventions, contribute to patient education, and support the prevention of complications through effective clinical management.

You will also work closely with multidisciplinary teams, providing specialist support to vascular, diabetes, and infectious diseases services.

Main duties of the job

• To take responsibility for the provision of specialist, evidence-based podiatry to the Acute Foot Multidisciplinary Team.
• To work in collaboration with a team of Podiatrists and other health care professionals to ensure seamless delivery of care for all patients.
• To be able to work independently in assessment and diagnosis and provide quality treatment to high-risk patients on an acute setting.
• To be able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, patients and their carers.

Education and professional qualifications
Essential

• Diploma or BSc in Podiatry
• Registration with the Health Professions Council
• Certificate in use of Local Anaesthesia

Desirable

• Relevant post graduate qualifications eg SOCAP diabetic foot module

• Core skills in Podiatry, knowledge of acute foot conditions and wound management
• Ability to undertake intricate work in using sensitive diagnostic tools and a range of surgical instruments. e.g in the management and debridement of poor tissue viability wounds and nail surgery
• Advanced clinical treatment skills
• Positive attitude to change
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Ability to work within Trust policies, including clinical governance, data protection, equal opportunities, and health and safety, to meet the differing needs of the patient
• To manage stressful situations by remaining calm, objective and professional at all times

• Previous experience of junior staff & student supervision/ clinical education
• Presentations or teaching to patient groups and other healthcare professionals.
