Job summaryThe Head of Specialist Community Nursing will provide professional leadership to the specialist nursing workforce and work with the Specialist Community Nursing Team Leader to ensure effective operational delivery of services.
Main duties of the job- To provide strategic, professional and clinical leadership for the Hospice Specialist Community Nursing Service, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, effective and responsive specialist palliative and end-of-life care across the community.
- The post holder will lead the development of community nursing services, promote clinical excellence, assure quality and governance, and work collaboratively with local health and social care partners to support delivery of integrated palliative and end-of-life care.
- The post holder will contribute to organisational strategy, service transformation and system-wide developments within palliative and end-of-life care.

QualificationsEssential- First-level Registered Nurse (Adult) with current NMC registration; Degree in Nursing or relevant healthcare subject; Post-registration qualification in Palliative Care, Cancer Care or related speciality; Leadership and management training; CPD evidence
Desirable- Master's Degree or equivalent experience; Leadership qualification; Non-Medical Prescribing qualification; Teaching or Practice Assessor qualification
