An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Pharmacy Department at The RUH as a Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician. This is a two-year fixed-term programme starting September 2026. The role is full-time, with part-time applications (minimum 30 hours) considered. You'll work a 7-day rota between 8:00am and 6:00pm, including weekends and bank holidays. This role is not eligible for sponsorship. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK at application.Main duties of the jobThe purpose of the Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician role is to:
- undertake a two-year programme resulting in professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacy Technician upon completion.
- complete all assignments, educational tasks to deadlines in order to satisfy the requirements for qualification and registration as a Pharmacy Technician, in line with the standards set by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- build competency portfolios and gather workplace evidence.
- work as a fully functional member of the pharmacy team.
- undertake all duties mentioned in the job description under the supervisor of a senior colleague and educational supervisor.
- follow local policies and procedures at all times.
- work across a seven-day rota between the hours of 8am and 6pm, including weekends and bank holidays. (Please note, rotas are planned in advance, with consideration of individual circumstances and reasonable adjustments.)

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- Minimum of 4 GCSEs grade C/4 or above
