Main duties of the jobWe're looking for two experienced Nursing Associates who will support the day-to-day delivery of healthcare, health monitoring, health facilitation, health promotion and clinical interventions for students with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute towards high-quality, person-centred healthcare and support the effective operation of the nursing service
- Build robust relationships with students, families, education staff, therapy teams and external professionals
- Assist with the delivery of health-related training where appropriate and under the guidance of a Registered Nurse
- Support a designated programme of student mental health and wellbeing interventions under the direction of the Registered Nurse and wider multidisciplinary team.
- Contribute to the implementation and review of healthcare plans through information gathering and health monitoring
- Support the development of health knowledge and awareness amongst education and support staff

The Role

Requirements
- Nursing Associate Foundation Degree.
- Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Nursing Associate.
- Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent).
- Experience working with children, young people or adults with complex health needs.
- Knowledge of safeguarding principles.

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- Nursing Associate Foundation Degree.
- Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Nursing Associate.
- Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent).
Desirable- Additional qualifications relating to learning disabilities, special educational needs or complex healthcare.
- Experience within a SEND school, specialist college, health or social care setting.
- Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs.
- Experience supporting students requiring enteral feeding, epilepsy management, respiratory care or tracheostomy care.
- Experience supporting health promotion initiatives.
