Originally founded in 1823, Seashell Trust is a nationally recognised and registered charity based in Cheadle Hulme, Stockport. The Trust comprises of the Royal School Manchester, the Royal College Manchester, 17 bespoke Residential Care Homes, Outreach Health and Family Services. We provide expert Residential care and Education for children and young people with severe, profound, and complex learning difficulties and disabilities, sensory impairments, communication disorders and autism.

Main duties of the job
We're looking for two experienced Nursing Associates who will support the day-to-day delivery of healthcare, health monitoring, health facilitation, health promotion and clinical interventions for students with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute towards high-quality, person-centred healthcare and support the effective operation of the nursing service
• Build robust relationships with students, families, education staff, therapy teams and external professionals
• Assist with the delivery of health-related training where appropriate and under the guidance of a Registered Nurse
• Support a designated programme of student mental health and wellbeing interventions under the direction of the Registered Nurse and wider multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to the implementation and review of healthcare plans through information gathering and health monitoring
• Support the development of health knowledge and awareness amongst education and support staff

Requirements

• Nursing Associate Foundation Degree.
• Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Nursing Associate.
• Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Experience working with children, young people or adults with complex health needs.
• Knowledge of safeguarding principles.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential

• Nursing Associate Foundation Degree.
• Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Nursing Associate.
• Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent).

Desirable

• Additional qualifications relating to learning disabilities, special educational needs or complex healthcare.
• Experience within a SEND school, specialist college, health or social care setting.
• Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs.
• Experience supporting students requiring enteral feeding, epilepsy management, respiratory care or tracheostomy care.
• Experience supporting health promotion initiatives.
