Shawe Physio is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Psychologist to join our growing multidisciplinary private practice in Hoddesdon.

We are a modern, evidence-based clinic with a strong reputation for high-quality rehabilitation, physiotherapy and wellbeing services. This is an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist looking to develop or expand a private caseload within a collaborative healthcare environment.

We are particularly interested in clinicians with experience or interest in:

• Persistent pain management
• Trauma and orthopaedic rehabilitation
• Sports psychology
• Anxiety and stress management
• Adjustment to injury and illness
• Health psychology approaches
• Rehabilitation psychology
• Chronic fatigue and burnout
• Cognitive behavioural approaches
• ACT-informed rehabilitation and pain management

The Role
This is a flexible self-employed position designed around the successful applicant’s availability and clinical interests.

The successful clinician will be responsible for building and managing their own caseload whilst benefiting from strong cross-referral opportunities from our physiotherapy and rehabilitation team.

Potential caseload areas may include:

• Persistent pain and injury-related distress
• Psychological support during rehabilitation
• Anxiety, stress and burnout
• Adjustment following trauma or surgery
• Performance psychology for active individuals and athletes
• Behavioural support for long-term health conditions
• Sleep and recovery support
• Health-related psychological wellbeing

Shawe Physio was founded off the back of Michael Shawe’s frustrations with working in both the NHS and the Private sector as a Physiotherapist. In the NHS he found he was unable to give his patients the standard of care they deserved due to short appointment times and limited numbers of appointments available to patients, as well as patients having to wait a very long time to see clinicians.

In the private sector he found that many practices were overly revenue focused, encouraging practitioners to sell packages of care rather than treat the cause as efficiently as possible.

Michael wanted instead to form a practice that focused on treating patients how he himself wished to be treated - by always putting the patients’ interests’ firsts, focusing on true care that educated and empowered patients and always aimed to treat the cause of the issue not just the symptoms. His approach focuses on a mixed stance of manual and exercise therapy with the best current evidence-based treatments in mind.

Since opening Shawe Physio in 2015, the clinic has grown into an expert team of clinicians, with MSK base qualifications, individual specialisms and mountains of great experience.

Responsibilities
Independently responsible for clinical caseload and insurance company reporting.

We provide an admin team to support with insurance company invoicing, payment handling and rebooking patients.

This is an exciting opportunity for either:
- A driven newly qualified clinician looking to build their own caseload within a supportive and established clinic environment, or
- An experienced Clinical Psychologist with an existing patient base seeking excellent facilities, admin support, and strong cross-referral opportunities.

Qualifications
Applicants must:
- Be HCPC registered as a Clinical Psychologist
- Hold a recognised UK Clinical Psychology qualification (Doctorate in Clinical Psychology)
- Hold appropriate professional liability insurance
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Be confident managing their own caseload
- Demonstrate excellent communication and clinical reasoning skills
