We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join our Community CAMHS team at an exciting time of transformation. Working within the Community, Wellbeing and Mental Health Care Group (CWAMH), you will support the delivery of high-quality, safe, and effective services for children and young people.
You will play a key role in service improvement, helping to drive evidence-based, trauma-informed, and needs-led practice while ensuring the voices of children and young people are at the heart of service development. Working closely with the Care Group Head of Nursing, you will support the quality, patient safety, and clinical effectiveness agenda across the service.

Main duties of the jobReporting into the Deputy Associate Director of Operations, some of your responsibilities will include:
- Provide operational, professional, and clinical leadership for the Community CAMHS Unplanned Care Service.
- Lead the delivery of a high-quality urgent and crisis mental health service for children and young people.
- Manage complex clinical risk and ensure safe, effective service delivery.
- Provide leadership, support, and supervision to the multidisciplinary team.
- Drive service improvement and contribute to quality, patient safety, and clinical effectiveness initiatives.

QualificationsEssential- Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with current NMC registration
- Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to CAMHS, crisis care, leadership or service development.
Desirable- Master's level qualification or equivalent postgraduate study in a relevant clinical, leadership or management discipline.
ExperienceEssential- Significant experience working within CAMHS and/or children's mental health services.
- Substantial experience managing children and young people presenting with acute mental health needs, complex risk and crisis presentations.
- Experience of operational, professional or clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary service.
- Experience of workforce management including supervision, appraisal, performance management and staff development.
- Experience of leading quality improvement, clinical governance, audit, incident review or service evaluation activities.
- Experience of managing staff within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Desirable- Experience of leading local service improvement, transformation or pathway development initiatives.
KnowledgeEssential- Advanced clinical assessment, formulation, risk management and decision-making skills in relation to children and young people experiencing mental health crisis.
- Comprehensive knowledge of safeguarding legislation, statutory frameworks and children's mental health pathways.
- Ability to lead and influence practice within complex, fast-paced and high-risk environments.
- Strong leadership, communication and partnership-working skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across health, social care, education and wider partner agencies.
- Knowledge of clinical governance, quality improvement methodologies, service improvement and change management processes.
- Ability to analyse, interpret and utilise service performance data, audit findings and outcome measures to inform decision-making and service development.
