The closing date is 16 November 2026

Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Eating Disorders Practitioner to join the Specialist Eating Disorders Service (SEDS) within Sheffield Health Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. The service is undergoing expansion across South Yorkshire, with a focus on improving access, reducing health inequalities, and delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to people with eating disorders and complex co-occurring mental and physical health needs.

As a key member of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT), you will provide specialist, person-centred care to individuals across community and clinic settings, working flexibly across Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham, and Doncaster. The role involves supporting service users through assessment, formulation, care planning, intervention, and ongoing review, ensuring care is responsive, recovery-focused, and tailored to individual need.

You will be working with people who present with a wide range of eating disorders, often alongside significant risk, complexity, and associated mental health difficulties. The role requires confident clinical judgement, strong risk assessment skills, and the ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively within a supportive MDT environment.

This post offers excellent opportunities for professional development, with access to training, supervision, and ongoing learning in a specialist field.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will manage an agreed caseload of service users with eating disorders, including individuals presenting with complex mental and physical health risks. You will undertake comprehensive holistic assessments, including detailed risk assessments, and contribute to formulation, care planning, and ongoing review within the care pathway.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will deliver and coordinate evidence-based, person-centred interventions, ensuring care is responsive to changing clinical presentation and risk. You will participate in MDT discussions, care planning meetings, triage of referrals, and duty provision, contributing to clinical decision-making across the service.

You will be responsible for maintaining accurate, timely, and high-quality clinical documentation in line with Trust standards, including the use of outcome measures (e.g. PROMs) to support evaluation and improvement of care. You will actively monitor risk, escalate concerns appropriately, and contribute to safeguarding processes where required.

In addition, you will contribute to the Intensive Day Service programme as a key worker where required, participate in supervision and clinical governance processes, and engage in continuous professional development.
