Job summary
We are looking to appoint a Part Time / 8PA's Consultant with a specialist interest in both Haemostasis and Thrombosis and Haemaglobinopathy within Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, based at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.

Main duties of the job
The appointees will, together with consultant colleagues, contribute to the provision of a comprehensive Haemostasis and Thrombosis Service and the Haemoglobinopathy service. It is expected that the successful candidate works flexibly and co-operatively with other members of the team in order to provide a high quality, comprehensive service within this teaching hospital environment.

Qualifications
Essential

• Full registration (with a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC).
• Specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).If an applicant is UK trained, they must also be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.
• MRCP/FRCP and FRCPath or equivalent

Desirable

• MD or PhD or equivalent

Management and Administration
Essential

• Evidence of the understanding of the systems and structures of NHS Management

Clinical governance and audit
Essential

• Experience in performing clinical audit

Desirable

• Completion and publication of a substantive audit project or service improvement project

Personal attributes
Essential

• Demonstrates behaviour consistent with PROUD values .
• Good oral and written communication skills

Research
Essential

• Ability to critically assess published research and incorporate it into clinical practice where appropriate.

Desirable

• Publications in Peer reviewed journals.

Teaching and training

• Experience of teaching student doctors and doctors in training at all levels.

Continuous Professional Development

• Evidence of participation in CME/CPD in the last 12 months

Clinical experience

• Specialist training in the clinical management of hematological disorders.
• Experience of working within the UK National Health Service.
• Ability to work as an independent practitioner in Haematology.

• Enthusiasm to develop a specialty interest in hemostasis and thrombosis.
