The Royal Hallamshire Hospital unit 07:30 am - 20:00 pm Monday - Friday. The Northern General Hospital unit is open 08:00 am - 22:00 pm Monday - Thursday , 08:00 - 20:00 pm Friday and 10:00 am - 18:00 pm Saturday.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder is responsible for supervising the day-to-day operational running of the Endoscopy Decontamination Units (EDUs) across the Trust's hospital sites.
Key functions include organising balanced staffing levels across all shifts, ensuring strict compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and meticulously recording all non-conformances on Trust databases.
The supervisor acts as a first line contact for service users, monitors decontamination equipment daily including data collection filed electronically in a timely manner, and will step in to perform technical, hands-on decontamination duties alongside the technician team as service needs dictate.
The post-holder will ensure all aspects of the quality standards outlined in the department's policies are met at all times.

- IT literate word and excel.
- Evidence of relevant, ongoing leadership or supervisory training/courses or prepared to complete once in post.
- Professional qualification in Decontamination (e.g., IDSc Technical Certificate, NVQ Level 3 in Decontamination, or equivalent experience) or prepared to complete once in post.
DesirableExperienceEssential- Significant experience working within an Endoscopy Decontamination Unit (EDU) or Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD).
- Strong working knowledge of National Standards for Decontamination, HTM 01-06 (or current equivalents), and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Experience supervising, coordinating, or leading a team in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Experience identifying, recording, and investigating service non conformances on a formal database.
- Experience of stock control and management
- Previous experience working within an NHS acute hospital setting

Skills and KnowledgeEssential- Excellent verbal and written skills; ability to communicate clearly with clinical service users, Estates, and external suppliers.
