About the role:An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and well-motivated individual to join our busy Biochemistry Department as a Senior Biomedical Scientist in Mass Spectrometry. This is a 1-year fixed term post covering maternity leave and is a chance to develop your senior skills and knowledge.
The mass spectrometry section includes a range of instrumentation including LC-MS and GC-MS, ICPMS and HPLC.
Requirements:Interested candidates should have either a specialist diploma in Clinical Biochemistry or an MSc in a relevant subject and at least 3 years’ experience in a Chemistry laboratory as an established BMS. You will need to be self-motivated, innovative, flexible, and reliable and have good interpersonal skills as well as having the ability to use your own initiative and take responsibility for one’s own work and those of others less qualified. Experience in mass spectrometry techniques and instrumentation would be advantageous.
Working Hours:The mass spectrometry section operates core hours 9am – 5.30pm; however, the successful candidate may be required to participate in shift patterns covering the hours of 08:00 to 21:00, as well as weekend shifts. The working week is 37.5 hours.
