Job Summary
Kirklees Intensive Home-Based Treatment Team are seeking to recruit a Band 7 Psychotherapist to work within their team. This full-time post is based at Folly Hall Mills in Huddersfield, and the role will cover both North and South Kirklees and will predominantly be within patients homes or community settings.

You would be working with a well-established multidisciplinary team that supports staff to develop both personally and professionally. We have a mix of CPNs, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Social Care Professionals and Occupational Therapists, also a TIPD lead, Dual Diagnosis and Psychiatrists.

IHBT are an alternative to hospital admission and work closely with service users, their carers and families to maintain someones safety in the community. IHBT also provide a gatekeeping role for hospital admissions and work with the wards to provide early discharge. You will need to be able to work autonomously as well as within a team and be able to assess risks for Working Age Adults.

IHBT provide rapid assessment at times of high risk or mental health relapse and work collaboratively to provide a care plan with the service user.

IHBT provide short term intervention and identify longer term care needs through the Multi-Disciplinary Team Approach

Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is interested in positively influencing systems through promoting psychological ways of working, and who is flexible and creative in response to service pressures and patient needs. The role will involve a wide range of activities to enhance service provision.

This will include providing consultation and assessment of patients presenting in crisis; whilst offering support and guidance to the wider MDT. Formulation, to support risk management and maintaining crisis care planning. It may also include individual short-term therapy to promote stabilisation and liaison with, and referral to, other appropriate departments and contributing to service development and research.

There is professional and clinical support from Clinical Psychologists outside of the team, as well as opportunities for you to develop your clinical interests in CPD and supervision. The team is known for being supportive - encouraging self-care, flexible working, and professional development.

There are strong links with the University of Leeds Doctoral Training course, offering ample opportunities to develop your supervisory skills. Audit and evaluation are encouraged and supported across the Trust.

Job responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY
The post holder will provide specialist psychotherapy skills within a multidisciplinary team. The post holder will provide a high quality clinical service to the users of the service.

They will provide highly specialist assessment and intervention while working collaboratively with non-psychology and psychotherapy professionals from other agencies and carers. They will be clinically responsible to a senior clinical psychologist or psychotherapist. Clinical oversight of all work will be held by the clinical lead in the service.

The job plan will be delivered in the services the post is based.

The post holder will work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team while observing Trust and National policies and procedures.

The post holder will utilise research skills in audit, service development and research relevant to the post.

• To assist in the supervision of Doctoral level Clinical Psychology trainees and trainees from other disciplines as appropriate.

• To provide advice on research projects to other staff within the service around appropriate methodology, statistical analysis etc.

• To contribute to the development and maintenance of the highest professional standards of practice, through active participation in internal and external CPD training and development programmes, in consultation with the post-holders professional lead and service manager(s).
• To maintain membership of appropriate bodies (i.e. UKCP) and professional bodies appropriate for the model of working.
• To contribute to the development and articulation of best practice in psychotherapy across the service, by continuing to develop the skills of reflective scientist practitioner, taking part in regular professional supervision and appraisal and maintaining an active engagement with current developments in the field of psychotherapy and related disciplines.
• To maintain the highest standards of clinical record keeping including electronic data entry and recording, report writing and the responsible exercise of professional self-governance in accordance with professional codes of practice and Trust policies and procedures.
• To maintain up to date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies and issues in relation to the clients the service serves.
• The post-holder will be required to work flexibly both in terms of base and in hours of clinical availability.

Qualifications
Essential

• Registered qualification in core mental health/social welfare profession.
• Qualifying level course in Psychotherapy or equivalent at Masters level.
• Registration/ Accreditation with the relevant professional/accrediting body for the model of psychotherapy relevant to this post. , e.g. UKCP, ACAP, BABCP.

Experience
Essential

• Completion of significant supervised clinical practice.
• Ability to carry out assessment, formulation and intervention.

Desirable

• Experience in working with service users in the clinical area of the post.
