Title: Team Leader Inpatient Unit
Job location: St Clare Hospice, Hastingwood, CM17 9JX, CM17 9JX, United Kingdom
Advertised salary: £39,730 - £47,998 per annum, inclusive of a High Cost Area Allowance (depending on experience) Plus Enhancements
Closing date: 22/09/2026

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Days - 07:30 – 20:00 and Nights- 19:30 – 08:00 including weekends and bank holidays
Additional enhancements:
  • 30% enhancement for nights, unsocial hours and Saturdays
  • 60% enhancement for Sundays and Bank Holidays

St Clare Hospice is a charity that provides specialist palliative care to patients and families in West Essex and the East Hertfordshire borders.

We're looking for an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Inpatient Unit as a Team Leader. You will be responsible for coordinating and supporting the nursing team on shift, whilst delivering high-quality care to patients and families during some of life's most important moments.

About the role
As Team Leader, you will:
  • Provide clinical leadership and support to the team on shift
  • Deliver high-quality palliative and end of life care
  • Support patients, families and colleagues through complex and challenging situations
  • Support and develop Registered Nurses and Healthcare Assistants
  • Work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team
  • Contribute to service improvement, education and quality initiatives

About you
You will be:
  • A Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Passionate about palliative and end of life care.
  • An experienced and supportive leader.
  • Committed to delivering compassionate, person-centred care.
  • Someone who values teamwork, kindness and professionalism.
