Clinical Research NurseThe closing date is 23 August 2026Job summary- The post holder will be responsible for the co-ordination and management of a research portfolio of interventional clinical trials focusing mainly on early phase trials.
- The post holder will work collaboratively with the research teams and wider multidisciplinary team in the management of their own caseload of clinical trials patients and be accountable for the achievement of local and national targets in relation to the service.
- Responsibilities include: facilitating study set-up; identifying suitable patients through the process of MDT's/screening notes; collecting data; patient recruitment, ensuring patient safety and supporting and monitoring patients and data entry. The post holder will also be expected to have sufficient skills to enable patients to make informed choices concerning their involvement in clinical trials by providing advice and information and acting as the patients advocate.
- The post holder must also be prepared to work across different clinical specialties, within the scope of their qualifications, as service needs require
Main duties of the job- An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Clinical Research Nurse to join our friendly Team
- The post holder must be a registered nurse with previous research experience who can work with a level of autonomy, taking delegated responsibility from clinicians and senior research nursing team for clinical decision making, and will work closely with investigators and multidisciplinary staff.
- The Clinical Research Facility (CRF) nurses play a key role in the delivery of clinical research at St. George's Hospital, developing and creating robust systems and processes to enable clinical research to run smoothly, efficiently and whilst ensuring the highest of standards are maintained.
- The post holder will be responsible for checking, preparing, and administering the Investigational Medicinal Product (IMP) in accordance with the study protocol and the specified route of administration.
- This role requires close collaboration with Principal Investigators and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure accurate data collection and excellent clinical care, with a strong commitment to participant safety and wellbeing. The post holder will advocate for patients, providing clear information and support to enable informed decision-making regarding participation in research studies.
- The post holder will be accountable for maintaining their own clinical skills and competencies in line with professional regulatory requirements and Trust policies
