Job summary
The States of Guernsey are looking for a Social Worker to join the Adult Community Care Team .The main purpose of the post will be to provide a high-quality research-based casework service to service users.The post holder will be based in the Integrated Adult Community Care Team which is part of the Community Health and Social Care Service and will provide consultation, support, specialist advice and joint working within the integrated services to deliver person centred care and support.

Main duties of the job
The Social Worker will be based within an identified team, acting in an advisory capacity to members of the multidisciplinary team on social care issues relating to adults, educating or acting as a mentor as appropriate. They will also provide training, consultation and supervision as delegated by the Senior Practitioner for less experienced social workers, support workers and student social workers.

Job responsibilities

Qualifications
Essential
  • The ability to evidence how HSCs CARE Values are applied in practice
  • Be proficient in a range of I.T systems such as Microsoft Word & Excell.
  • Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in accordance with Social Work England professional standards, including engagement in relevant training, reflective practice, research, supervision, and learning activities to maintain and enhance professional knowledge, skills, and competence.
  • To possess a full and valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle for business use.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
