Job summaryThe States of Guernsey are looking for a Staff Nurse - Day Patient and Endoscopy Unit to join the Acute Services Day Patient Unit.
Main duties of the jobThe Day Patient Unit consists of a 19 bedded ward area with additional seated waiting areas for ambulatory patients. A minor operation/procedure room with 2 bedded post-anaesthetic recovery unit also forms part of the unit along with an Endoscopy Suite.
Service users attend the unit for a variety of surgical, endoscopy, dental, interventional radiological and other diagnostic procedures.
The overall purpose of the role is to practice clinically as a member of the nursing and multi-professional team within the Day Patient Unit. This involves contributing to the evaluation of the effectiveness of planning and delivery of services and to be proactive in maintaining quality, service improvement, and patient flow in a safe and comfortable environment.
