About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Prosthetist to join our friendly and dedicated team at the Kent and Medway Prosthetic Centre in Maidstone. Having recently moved into our brand-new, purpose-built facility, there’s never been a better time to join us. You’ll become part of a welcoming and experienced multidisciplinary team, working in a modern clinical environment where teamwork, and patient-centered care are at the heart of everything we do.

As a Prosthetist, you will assess patients’ individual prosthetic needs through clinical assessment. You will measure, cast, fit and deliver prostheses tailored to individual requirements, ensuring appropriate alignment, comfort, function and durability. You will also monitor prosthetic fit and mechanical performance and make adjustments where required. Working as a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will take an active role in prescribing appropriate prosthetics and work closely with patients, families, carers, technicians, physiotherapists, occupational therapist and other healthcare professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Your Responsibilties

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients' prosthetic needs through clinical examination, gait analysis, and evaluation of functional goals.
• Measure, cast, fit, and deliver prostheses tailored to individual needs.
• Monitor and maintain the fit and mechanical performance of prostheses over time, addressing issues proactively to prevent complications.
• Take the lead in prescribing appropriate prosthetic interventions and provide clear information to patients, families and carers.
• Work within the multidisciplinary team and participate in case discussions, joint clinics and patient reviews.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical records and work in accordance with HCPC, clinical governance, GDPR and Data Protection requirements.
• Participate in clinical audits, service evaluation, quality improvement and service development.
• Support and mentor prosthetic students and junior colleagues through supervision, teaching and feedback.
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding, patient welfare, health and safety, infection control and professional conduct.

Requirements:

• HPCP registered prosthetic clinician with some clinical experience desirable
• Minimum 3 years clinical experience working as a Prosthetist
• Experience in lower limb prosthetics and upper limb prosthetics prescribing
• BSc Hons in Prosthetic and Orthotics or equivalent, required to qualify for HPCP registration
• Good computer skill and presentation skill
• Experience with Word, PowerPoint, Excel and other MS Office products
• Experience with Cad system desirable
• Good communicator
• Any other relevant qualifications or professional memberships
• DBS check
