An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 5 Radiology Nurse to join the expanding nursing team in the Radiology Department.

This dynamic department includes a wide range of x-ray-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The unique and varied nature of the specialty means that there is always something new and interesting to learn. Due to the diversity of patients who attend for treatment, the Radiology Nurse has the ability to care for a wide range of patients of all ages, from Emergency, Medical, Surgical, stroke and urological specialties. The Radiology nurses are vital team members, fulfilling the role of pre procedure, circulating and recovery nurse roles, as well as organizing the patient's pre- and post-procedure care. The role includes working in Interventional, CT, Nuclear Medicine and Ultrasound.

The Radiology Department is formed of a small team of nurses that work alongside the larger multi-disciplinary team which includes Radiographers, Radiologists, Healthcare Assistance and Administration Staff.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for effectively delivering skilled nursing care to patients using a systemic approach of assessing planning, implementing and evaluating to ensure a high standard of care.

They will proactively engage with patients, relatives and carers to seek their views, gain agreement and keep them informed about their treatment and care. They will demonstrate compassion by recognising and responding to individual needs in a warm, thoughtful, sensitive and helpful way.

Maintain registration, and nursing competencies, and comply with NMC code of Professional Conduct and related documents.
