Sulis Hospital, a leading healthcare provider in Somerset, has an amazing opportunity for you to join our JAG accredited endoscopy team as our Endoscopy and Decontamination Lead and work in partnership with our Clinical Lead, Medical Director and CDC operational lead.
We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate individual to provide strong visible leadership to deliver the highest standards of professional care to patients and to make a positive contribution towards the teams pursuit of excellence. You will be a strong role model, leading and coordinating the endoscopy service and decontamination.
Main duties of the jobWe are part of the Community Diagnostic Centre for the region and are growing our wide-ranging endoscopy service. We undertake diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy investigations such as Colonoscopy, Gastroscopy, Polypectomy, Cystoscopy and TOE, and starting a new initiative Colon Capsules.
You will be responsible and accountable for the daily management of the endo and decontamination suite, managing a wide range of complex and conflicting priorities, including staff management. You will ensure the JAG accreditation standards are met, British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG) guidance, and the National and Local decontamination guidance is followed.
You will perform the tasks of preassessment and endoscopy assistant during procedures (sedation and GA), when required, in collaboration with other members of the multidisciplinary team. You will be responsible for the professional development of the endoscopy team and overall work performance.

Job responsibilitiesIf you are a First Level Registered Nurse with at least 5 years post registration experience, 2 years of which are at deputy endoscopy lead level with substantial operational management experience and extensive experience and knowledge of decontamination and requirements of national standards then we would like to hear from you.
Full Time- 37.5 hours

Salary Competitive dependent on experience.
This role requires DBS clearance.

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- First Level Registered Nurse with at least 5 years post registration experience, 2 years of which at deputy endoscopy lead level.
- Substantial operational management experience.
- Track record of effective performance at senior level.
- Extensive experience and knowledge of decontamination and requirements of national standards
- Involvement in the processes of JAG accreditation
- Track record in providing expert advice and guidance to multi-professional staff.
- Delegated management of finances within budget set including delivery of cost improvements
Desirable- Masters level degree
- QIP improvement experience
- Experience of managing a budget
