Job summaryWe're looking for a dedicated & compassionate Consultant to join Home Treatment Teams (HTT) in West Surrey for Older Adults (OA). This will also provide cover to urgent referrals via SPA for OA. The teams covered would include North East Hampshire HTT, South West Surrey HTT & North West Surrey HTT.
Our HTT offers urgent & intensive mental health support to adults aged 65 years or older in crisis, helping people stay at home & avoid hospital admissions wherever possible. You'll be working with a skilled & welcoming multi-professional team,supporting people across Guildford & Waverley
As our Consultant, you'll provide clinical leadership, expert assessments, & treatment planning. You'll also support early discharge from hospital & work closely with local teams, services & carers. The role is central to helping people recover in the community with the right support in place.
The post offers flexible working options, admin support, and CPD opportunities.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder will be responsible for delivering Consultant psychiatric input and clinical leadership to the MDT & acting as a consultant/advisor to the team in line with the developing models of practice under 'New Ways of Working'
The HTT interfaces with Inpatient Acute Services, Single Point of Access Triage Services, the Section 136 Places of Safety, Community Services, Liaison Services & the Criminal Justice System. Most patients & referred from NMHT & Liaison Services.
The post-holder is also expected to liaise effectively with the other general &specialist teams operating in Surrey to ensure effective handover of care when patients transfer between teams as part of the patient pathway.
On average, a full time Consultant will have 7-10 visits per week.

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- MBBS or equivalent recognised medical qualification
- Full medical registration with a license to practice.

Desirable- Relevant higher degree, e.g. MD, PhD, MSc or other additional clinical qualifications
- MRCPsych or equivalent
- Management qualification or evidence of an interest in developing leadership skills.

Desirable- In good standing with GMC concerning warnings and conditions on practice
