The closing date is 23 July 2026Job summaryThis role will provide a specialist and advanced level of knowledge, provide strategic direction and expert advice in relation to resuscitation and medical emergency subjects to enhance the responsiveness and efficiency of care provision and the overall quality of patient care within all of the services. The post holder will be part of the Physical health team and report to the Associate Director for Quality and Assurance. They will also have close links with the Education department advising on training requirements and joint work as appropriate.
Main duties of the job- Update and advise in relation to our Trust's Managing Medical Emergencies and Resuscitation Policy, the ReSPECT procedure and the Do Not Attempt Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Procedure.
- Work in collaboration with the Assistant Resuscitation Officer(s) as required, particularly in relation to their training delivery and ad-hoc simulations.
- Facilitate a simulation programme for staff to practice their basic and immediate life support skills.
- Quality monitoring to ensure compliance with Resuscitation council (UK).
- Take strategic lead for resuscitation related audits, monitoring compliance, feeding back to teams and supporting them to improve compliance.
- Responsible, together with the medical devices and Procurement teams to ensure all services have the right equipment in place including contents and resuscitation consumables.
- To be resource to all disciplines concerning resuscitation procedures.
- Maintain up to date clinical knowledge and skills, maintaining professional development for this role including relevant, BLS, ILS course updates and associated subjects.
- Undertake investigative reviews following any cardiac arrests completing a comprehensive report with findings and recommendations.
- Provide appropriate post-resuscitation incident support and or relevant remedial advice and or training as required.

As aboveEssential- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
- Resuscitation / Medical Emergency relevant qualification
- 5 years' experience of working in a relevant clinical practice role at a senior level.
- Experience of working as a paramedic or in a resuscitation or medical emergency role.
