Job Summary
Are you a dynamic and enthusiastic Mental Health Practitioner? Do you want to join our thriving Early Help Team as part of our Specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), now known as Children and Young People's Services (CYPS)? Are you passionate about delivering excellent care to our young people and their families? If yes, then this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Our CYPS Early Help Team are highly supportive, friendly and innovative. As part of our i-THRVE framework, this team is focused on Advice & Signposting, and Getting help. You would join a strong multidisciplinary team offering assessments and interventions to children and young people experiencing psychological distress as well as providing support for the Clinic Duty System.

In addition, the role could provide opportunities within our neurodevelopment team if Autism Spectrum Condition/ADHD was a specialist interest of yours.

We are seeking those professionally registered with NMC, HCPC or SWE and have significant experience of working with under 18yr olds.

Main Duties of the Job
My job makes better lives by providing timely interventions that contribute to the care of young people with mental health problems and their families. I will put the experience of the CYP using the service at the centre of my decision making whilst building a supportive and responsive relationship with colleagues.
  • Mental Health Assessments
  • Risk Assessment and implementation of risk management plans
  • Delivering evidenced based Group interventions
  • Use of outcome measures to evidence good practice
  • Supervise and support students nurses

Job Responsibilities
To work in partnership with young people, families/carers regarding decision making and planning to help them to make informed decisions, to enable them to clarify and express their needs and to co-produce solutions.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
  • Degree or diploma level qualification in Nursing, Occupational Therapy or Social Work
  • Registered professional with current registration, appropriate to the job role (NMC, HCPC or SWE)
  • Evidence of continuous professional development

Experience
Essential
  • 2-year post qualification experience of working in the community with young people with mental health difficulties and their families
  • Experience and ability to undertake Mental Health Assessments, Risk Assessments and use outcome measures to evidence good practice
