Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our North West Community CAMHS Team in Horsham providing leadership to deliver high-quality, person-centred care to Children and Young People.

This job attracts a Recruitment and Retention payment of £45,000 structured over a three-year period as follows:

• £15,000 payable upon successful recruitment
• £10,000 payable at 12 months' service
• £10,000 payable at 24 months' service
• £10,000 payable at 36 months' service

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will: -

• Provide clinical and professional leadership for the North West CAMHS Team alongside other colleagues, including clinical supervision to the medical team and to provide clinical leadership to the wider MDT.
• Maintain a workload of approximately 50-60 open cases at any one time and approximately 1 new case seen per week
• Attend at local governance meetings to contribute towards business planning.
• Lead on the improvement of the quality of care within the team and contribute to improving quality across the system.
• Be responsible for carrying out administration in line with the Trust's policies in relation to patient care, supervision of resident doctors and continuing professional development (CPD).

Essential

• MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.

Desirable

• MRCPsych
• Additional clinical qualifications. SL

ELIGIBILITY
Essential

• Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
• Included on the GMC Specialist Register OR within six months.
• Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment

Desirable

• In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice

CLINICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Essential

• Excellent knowledge in specialty
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
• Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge

Desirable

• Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service
