Job Summary
Symphony Healthcare Services have an opportunity for a Salaried GP to join the team who work across both Martock Surgery and South Petherton Medical Centre in Somerset.

Martock Surgery is registered with the Care Quality Commission to deliver the following regulated activities: Diagnostic and screening procedures; Family planning; Maternity and midwifery services; Surgical procedures and Treatment of disease, disorder or injury.

South Petherton Medical Centre offers a wide range of healthcare services, provided by a multidisciplinary team including GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists, Practice Nurses and Healthcare Assistants (HCAs).

Both Martock and South Petherton are beautiful villages on the outskirts of Yeovil in South Somerset. Yeovil is very close to the A303, making travel to London, Bristol, Exeter and Bath easy. And Bristol, Bournemouth, Southampton and Exeter International Airport links Somerset to the world.

We have 4 to 6 vacant GP sessions available and we offer a competitive sessional rate, plus the option to join the NHS pension, along with many other Symphony employee benefits.

Main duties of the job
As a Symphony GP, you would undertake all the clinical duties associated with a GP working in primary care, without the responsibilities and risks associated with being a Partner.

We can offer opportunities depending on your experience and the level of responsibility you take on at the practice.

All GPs working for us are salaried and paid as employees, unlike Partners, which means less risk for you and more time to focus on patient care.

We put patients first, and our GPs work flexibly according to need, so contributing to areas such as QOF, QI, training and research projects providing a huge amount of variety to the role. However, our newly qualified / less experienced GPs have a clearly defined job plan setting out the hours of work and responsibility and tasks associated with the role.

Through annual appraisal, we encourage career development and progression and are keen to support GPs who wish to extend their role, or have specialist skills which can be utilised in primary care.

If you would like to speak with a member of the People Services team who manage GP recruitment for all of Symphony's 14 practices, please email Lydia or Kirsty: SHS.GPRecruitment@SomersetFT.nhs.uk
