This is an excellent opportunity to develop your operational management career within a large and diverse clinical directorate, supporting a range of inpatient and outpatient services that make a real difference to the people of Tameside and Glossop.
Working closely with clinical, nursing and corporate colleagues, you will support the delivery of high-quality services through operational management, performance improvement, workforce coordination, governance and service transformation. This varied role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem solving, building relationships and working in a fast-paced environment.
We are looking for someone with experience of NHS operational management, excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to analyse complex information and manage competing priorities. Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, are essential.

Main duties of the jobThe Assistant Directorate Manager (ADM) provides operational and project management support across the Medicine Directorate, working closely with the Directorate Manager and Deputy Directorate Managers to deliver safe, effective and high-quality services.The post holder will play a key role in supporting the operational management of inpatient and outpatient services, ensuring delivery of national and local performance standards, service improvement programmes, workforce management and governance processes.The post holder will work collaboratively with clinical, nursing and corporate colleagues to support service transformation, optimise patient pathways, improve operational performance and contribute to the achievement of the Directorate's strategic objectives.The Assistant Directorate Manager will have responsibility for managing defined workstreams and projects, providing operational leadership where appropriate and deputising for senior managers when required.
