Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Harrogate & Ripon Community Treatment Team as a Nursing Associate.

Applicants must have already completed the Nursing Associate foundation degree and be a Registered Nurse Associate on the NMC register. This post is not offering the training to gain this qualification.

This role may be eligible for sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) Skilled Worker route. Main duties of the job
Applicants must have NMC Nursing Associate registration and, preferably have experience of working with people with a diagnosed learning disability.

The successful candidate will work with multi-professional practitioners to ensure collaborative working with service users, their families, carers and partner agencies providing a person-centred approach and strive to promote recovery within adult mental health.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be calm, confident and resilient in their approach, and will need to be able to form therapeutic relationships.

The successful candidate will work in a supportive environment that is committed to personal and professional development and should strive to deliver high quality, safe, patient care and be a good role model in reflecting the Trusts Core Values.

Qualifications
Essential
  • Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register.
  • Nursing Associate Foundation Degree qualification.
  • GCSE Grade A-C in Maths & English or skills level 2 Maths & English or equivalent.

Desirable
  • Qualification in assessment, supervision and teaching in clinical practice.

Knowledge/Skills
Essential
  • Experience of working in teams under appropriate supervision as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Insight into how to evaluate own strengths and development needs, seeking advice where appropriate
  • Experience of providing and receiving complex, sensitive information
  • Ability to take part in reflective practice and clinical supervision activities
  • Ability to organise and prioritise own delegated workload
  • Ability to deal with non- routine and unpredictable nature of workload and individual patient contact
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written, verbal and non-verbal communication) with patients/relatives and carers and all members of the multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to develop effective and appropriate relationships with people, their families, carers and colleagues
  • Ability to support, supervise and act as a role model to nursing associate students, other learners and health care support workers as required within the clinical setting
  • Must be able to demonstrate the English language proficiency level required for this post

Experience
Essential
  • Up to date understanding of the scope of and role of the Nursing Associate in context of the nursing and multidisciplinary team and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development
  • Understands and acts in line with NMC professional standards for practice contained within The Code
  • Knowledge of when to seek advice and escalate to the appropriate professional for expert help and advice
  • Understand requirements for NMC professional Revalidation
  • Understanding of the importance of following procedures and treatment plans

Desirable
  • Experience in a health care setting

  • Ability to travel independently in accordance with Trust policies and service need.
