Join Our Friendly, Forward-Thinking General PracticeThe Dow Surgery is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated
Clinical Pharmacist Independent Prescriber to join our established multidisciplinary team.
Working alongside our Lead Pharmacist, GPs and wider clinical team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality medicines optimisation, supporting safe prescribing and improving patient outcomes.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced pharmacist who enjoys working in Primary Care and wants to make a real difference to patient care within a supportive practice environment.
The RoleThe successful applicant will be involved in:
- Structured Medication Reviews (SMRs)
- Medicines optimisation and medicines management
- Managing repeat prescribing systems
- Medicines reconciliation following hospital discharge
- Reviewing Docman correspondence and implementing medication changes
- Responding to medication queries from patients and clinicians
- Supporting safe, effective and cost-efficient prescribing
- Working collaboratively with GPs, nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team
- Clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives
Essential RequirementsApplicants
must:
- Be a registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Be a qualified Independent Prescriber
- Hold appropriate professional indemnity cover
- Have excellent clinical decision-making and communication skills
- Be committed to providing high-quality, patient-centred care
Desirable ExperienceWe would particularly welcome applications from candidates with experience in:
- General Practice or Primary Care Network (PCN) settings
- Structured Medication Reviews (SMRs)
- Medicines Management
- Docman workflow
- EMIS Web
- Long-term condition management
- Medicines optimisation and prescribing safety
