We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Education and Development Team as a Placement Learning Facilitator. In this rewarding role, you will support and enhance the placement experience for learners, helping them develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to progress from student to registered practitioner.
Working across a range of clinical settings, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote high-quality learning environments that support evidence-based practice and excellent patient care. You will also contribute to the delivery of education and development programmes that support staff development, recruitment, retention and wellbeing across the Trust.
The successful candidate will work closely with key stakeholders, including higher education institutions, clinical teams and professional bodies, to coordinate and further develop high-quality practice learning opportunities. You will help ensure that placements meet the standards and requirements of NHS England, the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), supporting the development of a skilled and compassionate future workforce.
Main duties of the jobThis rewarding role will lead the coordination and planning of practice placements across the Trust, ensuring learners receive high-quality clinical learning experiences that support their education, professional development and transition into practice.
Working closely with Higher Education Institutions, clinical teams and placement providers, you will coordinate placements across a range of professions, learner cohorts and academic programmes. You will help maintain high-quality learning environments, supporting the preparation of Practice Supervisors and Practice Assessors in line with the Trust's commitment to quality, patient safety and excellent patient experience.
You will contribute to PARE profiles, educational audits and improvement plans, support student evaluation processes, and work collaboratively with stakeholders to enhance placement quality and learner experience.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and organised individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who can work independently, build effective relationships and provide support to learners and staff. The role is primarily Monday to Friday, with occasional off-site working and flexibility required for university events.

Person SpecificationKnowledgeEssential- Advanced clinical knowledge either through formal qualification and/or extensive clinical experience
- Knowledge of developing evidence-based practice
- Policies, practices and procedures e.g. Safe Learning Environment Charter (SLEC)
- Involvement in or knowledge of quality improvement or change management processes
Desirable- A good understanding of the changing NHS environment in regards to student and learners in practice.
QualificationsEssential- Registered Adult Nurse or Allied health Professional, educated to or actively working towards first degree level
- Registered Practice Assessor and up to date Practice Supervisor
- Evidence of personal professional development and study
Desirable- Recognised teaching and assessing qualification with experience of coaching and development of colleagues
ExperienceEssential- Experience of teaching, coaching and assessing students or learners in practice
- Demonstrable experience of design, delivery and evaluation of training for clinical professional colleagues
- Demonstrates understanding and experience of Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor/Student assessment processes
- Experience of having worked across professional and organisational boundaries
- Experience of inter-professional working
