And we perform more stem cell transplants than any other centre in the UK.This exciting opportunity has arisen for a clinical pharmacist to take a lead role within haemato-oncology in one of Europe's largest centres for treating blood cancers.Haemato-oncology is a complex and exciting discipline within pharmacy, with a multidisciplinary and innovative approach to patient care and delivery of services. It is an area of unprecedented growth in new medicines and exciting new technologies.

Main duties of the job
Responsible for leading, developing and optimising the delivery of clinical pharmacy services to the Haemato-Oncology unit, including ward, ambulatory care and outpatient service.
To strategically lead the pharmacy services for Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs) across all tumour sites, NHS and private care, trial and non-trial settings.
Key member of the Cellular Therapy Steering Group and Cellular Therapy Governance Group and genetic modification safety committee.
To work alongside the Head of Clinical services and the other lead pharmacists to ensure process standardisation, pathways are streamlined and clinical pharmacy services are consistent across both sites
Leading a team of highly skilled pharmacists, technicians and other pharmacy staff working to deliver cutting edge pharmacy services to Haematology & ATMP patients.
Leading on the delivery of local, regional and national projects to optimise medication, improve services and outcomes for patients. The post holder will be responsible for implementation of these projects, through extensive stakeholder engagement and collaboration.
The post holder will work with the senior pharmacy team to identify and deliver costs savings and service efficiencies within departments and across systems.

Job responsibilities

• To support the Head of Clinical services in the operational delivery of clinical pharmacy services.
• To lead the Haemato-Oncology & ATMP pharmacy team, to ensure service development is in line with the national and international standards. This will involve closely liaising with other Lead Pharmacists.
• To collaborate with the Head of Clinical Services, Education and Training Lead and Consultant Pharmacist cancer services to develop advanced practice and extended roles, ensuring appropriate support, training and supervision of these roles in practice.
• To manage, motivate and develop staff within the team to ensure that they are able to deliver the priorities for the Trust, to include objective setting, regular performance review and report to the Head of Clinical Services using the Trust system of Individual Performance Review
• Responsible for the overall governance and implementation of ATMPs:- ensuring regulatory requirements are met for cellular therapies and gene therapies

• Significant demonstrable experience of working in clinical pharmacy
• Experience of working in Haemato-oncology pharmacy
• Experience working with HSCT and Cell Therapies
• Financial forecasting and managing drug expenditure to include contribution to delivering cost improvement programmes
• Significant experience of leading and managing change projects to improve services
• Significant managerial experience in leading a team and managing individuals.
• Experience of contributing to the delivery of medication governance and medication safety
• Experience delivering education and training, and providing supervision to support the development of multidisciplinary team
• Recent (in last 2 years) evidence of delivering efficiencies in the NHS
