Main duties of the jobWe have optimised our Band 6 clinical pharmacist programme to focus on patient facing clinical aspects of pharmacy care. This exciting opportunity is to join a team of rotational pharmacists concentrating on providing the best possible ward based pharmaceutical care.
Our department strategy is focussed on providing a pioneering and compassionate service while embedding enhanced roles for pharmacy technicians and a maximised non-medical prescribing workforce.

Job responsibilitiesFor further information please refer to the job description and personal specification:- To provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care, contributing to the multidisciplinary team for clinical units as required, through ward pharmacy services.
- Promote optimal and appropriate drug use and high quality prescribing practice within the Trust.
- To attend all relevant events such as Registrar/Consultant rounds/unit meetings as appropriate.
- To respond appropriately to requests from medical and nursing staff for information and advice about the selection and use of drug therapy.
- Actively participate in audit, drug use reviews and pharmacoeconomic project work.
- Participate in any pharmacy initiatives or working groups as appropriate.
- To support the Pharmacy Clinical Services Manager with the Clinical Governance and Risk Management Strategy within the department and throughout the Trust
- Participate in pharmacy initiatives within the units as appropriate
- Strive for continuous quality improvement through identifying research questions; developing and contributing to research to further the medicines optimisation agenda in cancer
Person SpecificationEducation/QualificationsEssential- GPhC registered Pharmacist
Desirable- Working towards Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent
ExperienceEssential- NHS Hospital Pharmacy experience
Desirable- Ward pharmacy experience
- Medicines Information experience
- Experience of training staff
Skills/Abilities/KnowledgeEssential- Good organisational/time management
