Main duties of the job
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic educator to help drive forward the School's strategic vision: transforming cancer care by inspiring, challenging, and developing the next generation of innovative health professionals through world-class education.

In this internationally focused role, you will be part of a dedicated team of experienced Lecturers and Lecturer Practitioners, working closely with Programme Leads to deliver high-quality teaching across ourpost-registration and postgraduate programmes. These include bespoke short programmes and study days, delivered both in-person and through cutting-edge virtual learning platforms to a global audience.You will play a pivotal role in shaping student learning by leading, coordinating, and delivering validated modules that reflect the latest advancements in cancer care. With opportunities to engage in clinicalpractice and contribute to scholarly activity, this role offers a unique platform to influence education and practice on an international scale. activity, and participate in research--ensuring your teaching remainsgrounded in the latest evidence and best practice.

Job description
Job responsibilities

Education - Be responsible for high quality teaching and the facilitation of student learning, using an innovative and reflective approach to education. This includes:
  • Designing and delivering specific teaching sessions and study days both in the classroom and through e-learning using a range of appropriate teaching strategies to suit the level of learners, the setting, and the topic, including technology-enhanced and experiential learning, one-toone coaching, large and small group teaching, seminars, and simulation of clinical situations.
  • Participating in the development of teaching in the School, sharing and reflecting on ideas and experiences; mentoring colleagues; evaluating teaching activity and outcomes.
  • Participating in Peer Review of teaching, receiving, and giving supportive feedback and adviceto help sustain and enhance the quality of teaching in the School.
  • Being involved in the evaluation of teaching and learning activities, ensuring that education and practice are linked.
  • If qualified, provide academic leadership and support to module/ programme / curriculum development and delivery.
  • Develop and deliver culturally sensitive non-accredited education and training to a global audience.

Person Specification
Education/Qualifications
Essential
  • Registered Health Care Professional
  • Professional MSc /MA in an appropriate subject
  • Recognised cancer care qualification

Desirable
  • Fellow of the HEA
  • PhD (or working towards)
  • Post- graduate teaching qualification (preferably also recognised by professional body).

Experience
Essential
  • Post registration experience in a relevant clinical setting
  • Experience of clinical leadership role during career
  • Experience of teaching in Higher Education or Clinical Practice setting

Desirable
  • Experience of acute oncology
  • Experience of teaching to an international audience
  • Advanced Communication skills training
  • Experience of research and scholarship activity/project management related to education and/or cancer care

Knowledge
Essential
  • Knowledge/experience of teaching in a variety of settings
  • Understanding of research methods and academic processes
  • Current knowledge of national and international health/education policies/standards

Desirable
  • Current knowledge of care of individuals with cancer both in the UK and globally

Skills/Abilities
Essential
  • Ability to deliver innovate and creative educational activities
  • Excellent communication skills - able to influence and communicate with people at all levels.
  • Highly developed problem-solving and change management skills.
  • Computer literate using Outlook, Word, and Power Point.

Desirable
  • Knowledge of health care leadership and change management
  • Knowledge of clinical assessment and decision making
  • Knowledge of Research
  • Knowledge of technological approaches for online teaching & learning
