Looking for an opportunity to specialise in autism, work alongside an experienced multi-disciplinary team and enjoy the benefits of term-time working?

As one of the UK's best employers, Together Trust is seeking an Occupational Therapist/Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our Therapy Team at Inscape House School, one of the UK's leading specialist autism education settings.

Working with children and young people aged 5-19, you'll play a vital role in helping pupils develop the skills, independence and confidence they need to succeed both in school and in everyday life.

Location: Inscape House School, Cheadle, Cheshire
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | 41 weeks per year
Contract: Permanent | Term Time
Salary: £39,667 per annum (41 weeks worked), rising through biennial increments (£43,150 FTE). Comparable to NHS Band 6 Occupational Therapist salary levels, with the added benefit of term-time working and school holidays.

About the Role:
As a Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will manage your own clinical caseload and deliver high-quality, evidence-based and person-centred occupational therapy interventions tailored to the individual needs of pupils and students.

Working collaboratively with families, education staff and other professionals, you will help remove barriers to learning, promote independence and improve outcomes for young people.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Delivering specialist OT assessments and interventions.
  • Supporting EHCP outcomes and Individual Education Programmes.
  • Advising on specialist equipment and sensory-informed approaches.
  • Working as part of a collaborative multi-disciplinary team.
  • Supporting and supervising Occupational Therapy Assistants.
  • Delivering training, advice and consultancy to staff and families.
  • Contributing to service development and continuous improvement.

We'd love to hear from candidates who:
  • Hold a Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
  • Are HCPC registered with a current practising certificate.
  • Experience working with children and young people with Autism Spectrum Conditions is desirable; applications from therapists with transferable skills and a passion for supporting autistic young people are welcomed.
  • Have experience within special school, paediatric or multi-disciplinary settings.
  • Have knowledge of sensory-informed approaches and paediatric OT practice.
  • Can independently manage and prioritise a clinical caseload.
  • Can support and supervise other team members.
  • Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Are committed to person-centred, inclusive and collaborative practice.
  • Are proactive, flexible and committed to continuous professional development.

Desirable:
  • Knowledge or experience of Sensory Integration approaches.
  • Experience contributing to service development.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
